The Pitiusas islands are on course to extend their tourist season beyond the central summer months, indicated by the opening schedules of their four- and five-star hotels for the upcoming season. With Easter occurring in late March this year, 42.7% of the 89 analyzed hotels will be operational this month, including 15.7% already open and another 26.9% opening around Easter. This early opening strategy, driven by high accommodation prices, signifies a shift towards season deconcentration, with almost 85% of these hotels expected to be fully operational by May, thanks in part to the early opening of major nightclubs in Ibiza. Businesses aim to match the revenue of peak months and build staff loyalty through these extended operations, allowing for more unemployment benefits and contributions for employees. By May, all analyzed hotels are scheduled to open, showcasing a concerted effort to mitigate seasonality in tourism. This is further evidenced by specific areas like Sant Antoni, Platja d’en Bossa, and the municipality of Ibiza, where significant proportions of hotels are already operational or will open in line with Easter, leading to a substantial availability of accommodations before the summer season peaks.
