Two friends experienced a harrowing ordeal during a fishing trip off the coast of es Figueral in Ibiza when one was swept into the sea by a wave and had to be rescued by a Maritime Rescue helicopter. Despite checking a mobile app for favorable fishing conditions, they faced unexpected bad sea and swell conditions. The incident occurred around 20:15, leading Luigi Scatolini, the companion, to attempt a rescue before calling emergency services. The stranded fisherman managed to cling to a rock, sustaining injuries and hypothermia, before being rescued. Local police and a fire department were also involved in the rescue operation, with the fisherman eventually hospitalized for his injuries but without serious harm.
