The company Unifica Gestión de Servicios SL has been ordered to pay a penalty for illegally hiring a worker involved in a fatal accident at the Hard Rock Hotel. The worker was not registered with Social Security and was still receiving unemployment benefits at the time. Unifica had subcontracted the cleaning services, and the court ruled that they were jointly responsible for the labor irregularity. Unifica’s claims of non-existent contractual relationships were dismissed based on evidence of communication with the worker and the hotel. The ruling cannot be appealed.
