The Guardia Civil‘s operation ‘Ferrati’ in Ibiza disrupted a criminal network involved in drug trafficking and money laundering between South America and Europe. Eight arrests were made for drug trafficking, money laundering, and criminal organization. This network was distributing drugs in Ibiza and other European locations. During the judicial proceedings, four of the accused were detained without bail, while three were offered bail at €15,000 each. The operation included fifteen searches in Madrid and Ibiza, involving about fifty agents. Locations raided included homes and warehouses of Vip Ibiza Car, a company implicated in the scheme. Luxury vehicles, drugs like cocaine, MDMA, and hashish, €127,000 in cash, and firearms were seized. The operation, which started in late 2021, targeted an international drug trafficking organization. The drugs were transported from South America to European ports and then to Ibiza, using sophisticated methods. The profits were laundered through businesses, including a luxury car rental in Ibiza and Madrid. The Balearic Islands Judicial Police Organic Unit led the operation, supported by other Guardia Civil units. For the full article, please visit Diario de Ibiza website here.
