Low Blows, a rising post-punk band based in Barcelona, is gearing up to release a preview of their second album. The band, initially a solo project by Chilean musician Carlos Vergara in Ibiza in 2017, evolved into a quartet before settling as a trio. Influenced by shoegaze and noise, they debuted with ‘Cruel’ in 2019. Their new single, ‘Normal’, set for release on February 2nd, is a critique of mass culture and will accompany a video clip. Low Blows, known for their critical and political lyrics, draws inspiration from post-romantic literature and current affairs, with Vergara as the lyricist. Music creation is a collaborative effort among the members. The band, influenced by Joy Division and The Soft Moon, is expanding their sound towards an electronic post-punk style. Their upcoming single ‘Go’ is produced by Matteo Vallicelli of The Soft Moon. Having played mainly in Barcelona, Low Blows is planning concerts in Madrid and Zaragoza, aiming to make a mark on the national scene. For the full article, please visit Diario de Ibiza website here.
