The beach at Punta Xinxó has been closed for a week due to biological contamination, attributed to the failure of an old sewage pumping station located on the shore. The closure followed a storm caused by DANA, which led to the collapse of the sewage network and resulted in the beach being flooded with wipes. This incident is part of a recurring pattern, with similar contamination episodes occurring during past tourist seasons. The Sant Josep City Council is conducting daily water quality tests and will only reopen the beach when it is safe for public use. For the full article, please visit Diario de Ibiza website here.
