The 33rd edition of the Ruta de la Sal starts on 28 May. A total of one hundred boats will set off from Port Ginesta in Barcelona and the Real Club Náutico de Denia simultaneously at 11 am, bound for the bay of Portmany. Although the number of pre-registrations has exceeded two hundred, according to the organisers, a maximum limit of one hundred has been established due to the health situation and, furthermore, the departure from Mallorca has been cancelled, which is likely to be rescheduled until 2022 under more favourable circumstances. For yet another year, the Club Nàutic Sant Antoni will host the most famous regatta in the Mediterranean and will once again supply all moorings, water and electricity free of charge. Around 700 sailors to compete The CNSA is collaborating with the aim of boosting tourism to help the local economy and to extend the season beyond summer, especially in this year of pandemic. It is estimated that the 100 boats will bring 700 people to the regatta, with an additional 200 accompanying them by plane. The competitors will stay an average of three days in the town. Es Nàutic will also take all the necessary measures to ensure that this event is a safe regatta. It is worth remembering that all the pontoons and buildings of the club have hydroalcoholic gel dispensers, as well as temperature sensors. The toilets will also be misted with anticovid products every day of the regatta.
