Boris Johnson, the British Prime Minister, stated on Wednesday that the restrictions placed to control the spread of Omicron will be eased in United Kingdom on next Wednesday, as scheduled. He reinstated teleworking, mandated the use of masks, and required the presentation of a proof of immunization against COVID-19 to gain access to certain facilities. According to the BBC, Javid stated that the United Kingdom is “starting a new chapter” in its fight against the pandemic. In this context, Northern Irish officials have indicated that restrictions, such as the requirement to provide a vaccination certificate to enter bars, will be eliminated on Wednesday. The British Ministry of Health reported another 107,364 this Thursday, a figure consistent with prior days, that is, data that has stabilized after weeks of recording daily illnesses. According to official data, 15,613,283 people have been infected in the European country since the epidemic began, with 153,202 deaths – 330 more than in the previous balance sheet. The COVID-19 immunization plan has been tasked by the Johnson Executive with the development of the country’s pandemic scenario. As of Thursday, 83.6% of the British population had completed the whole immunization regimen, with 63.8% having gotten the third dosage.
United Kingdom assures that the Omicron variant “is withdrawn”.
