Georgina Withers, born in England but resident in Ibiza for more than 17 years, reported yesterday via social networks that she had been a victim of harassment in an area of es Canar. At around 5.30pm on Tuesday afternoon, Withers, 52, said she was meditating on the coast between Cala Pada and es Niu Blau, a place where she goes “very often with her dogs” although this time she was alone. Suddenly, she felt water on her back and turned around to see what was happening because “the sea was some distance away”.
Cries for help
The man, seeing the reaction of the woman, fled the area, she says. “I started screaming loudly because I know that, although there was no one in the area, there are several houses around and I thought surely someone would hear me,” she recounts. Moments later, the woman called Santa Eulària Policía Local and a police car went to the area, where they carried out a search to locate the individual, without success. Withers also went to the Guardia Civil headquarters in the town where, although she did not officially file a complaint, she recorded what had happened to help to “stop this man”, she remarked.
