The car that hit a woman at midnight on Saturday fled after the accident. The incident occurred at the pedestrian crossing located at Avenida de la Paz and the Suministros roundabout at 00.15 hours. A mobile ICU, a Basic Life Support ambulance and the Eivissa Local Police Traffic Unit were sent to the scene of the incident.
Apparently the car driven by a woman (born in 1999) was driving along the Avenida de la Paz towards the Avenida de Sant Joan, when upon reaching the crosswalk duly marked with luminous horizontal and vertical signals, she ran over a woman (born in 1999) the pedestrian, who was crossing the road correctly.

The driver of the car involved in the hit-and-run left the scene and fled. The Eivissa Local Police, after making several efforts together with the National Police, located the driver hours latershe presented herself at the police station.
The woman was detained and reported as the alleged perpetrator of a felony reckless homicide and one count of leaving the scene of the accident. In addition, the defendant was subjected to the pertinent alcohol and drug tests, with negative results for both.
The woman, 35 years old and of Argentinean nationality, died in hospital as a result of the serious injuries caused by the impact.
