Position: Section Head
Journalism Graduate from the Autonomous University of Barcelona
Ibiza native, islander, and Mediterranean at heart. I graduated with a degree in Journalism from the Autonomous University of Barcelona in 2002. I have spent my entire professional career (with the exception of a few freelance contributions) at Diario de Ibiza, where I began contributing on weekends even before starting my university studies. I primarily focus on health, education, and social issues, and on cultural topics whenever I have the time. This beloved profession has earned me several awards (Journalism Award Against Gender Violence from the Grupo Norte Foundation, the Balearic Islands Journalists Association, the Balearic Islands Official College of Nursing, the Roche Institute of Personalized and Precision Medicine Foundation, Tiflos, etc.) which have reaffirmed my belief in the power of a notebook, a pen, and eye contact in an increasingly technological world. Passionate about women’s stories, gastronomy, and reading. I always carry a book in my bag. I sometimes dream that I’m writing fiction. Sometimes, I do. I’ve published the cookbooks ‘Cocineras en Ibiza’ (Editorial Balàfia, 2020) and ‘Ibiza, de la tierra a la mesa’ (Editorial Balàfia, 2022), a short story in ‘Prova de foc’ (Editorial Balàfia, 2022), a collection of eight stories inspired by the pandemic, and ‘Un año del revés’ (Con M de Mujer, 2022). When the world woke up, we journalists were still there.
