Sport has become a constant presence in Ibiza and Formentera’s calendar. Throughout the year, the island hosts races, popular competitions and family-friendly sports events that use urban circuits, rural paths and coastal landscapes as natural settings. February is simply one point along that wider calendar, offering a varied selection of events that reflect how sport fits naturally into daily life on the island.
With mild winter temperatures and fewer crowds, February provides a practical moment for road races, outdoor challenges and youth competitions, but it is far from the only active month in the islands. What the February programme shows is continuity rather than exception.
1 February: Cursa del Ibiza X Aniversario
The month begins in Ibiza Town with the Cursa del Ibiza X Aniversario, a popular race organised in collaboration with UD Ibiza. Held on 1 February, the event offers 5 km and 10 km distances on an urban circuit, with the start and finish located near the club’s stadium.
Part of the route passes through the Palladium Can Misses area, adding variety to the course. Designed as an accessible race, it attracts both regular runners and those who take part in occasional competitions, fitting neatly into the island’s growing programme of popular road races.

8 February: Sant Antoni Rural
On 8 February, Sant Antoni de Portmany hosts the XIX Sant Antoni Rural, one of several rural and community-linked races that take place in Ibiza across the year. Closely tied to the town’s patron saint celebrations, the event combines physical activity with a strong local atmosphere.
A key element of the programme is Verro Kids, a non-competitive obstacle race for children aged 3 to 14. With free participation and age-based distances, the focus is on inclusion and enjoyment rather than performance. The traditional costume contest reinforces the event’s festive character.
The Sant Antoni Rural also includes a team competition, again free to enter, reflecting the community-driven approach that defines many of Ibiza’s sporting events beyond the high season.

8 February: Cursa Popular Flor d’Ametller
Also on 8 February, the XIV Cursa Popular Flor d’Ametller takes place in the Pla de Santa Agnès de Corona. This race forms part of a broader group of rural events that use Ibiza’s inland landscape as a setting.
Adult runners cover approximately 7.5 km, combining rural roads and tracks, while children’s races adjust distances according to age. The timing coincides with the almond blossom season, offering a distinctive backdrop that connects sport with the island’s agricultural environment.

15 February: 10K Platja d’en Bossa
Mid-month sees the return of one of Ibiza’s most established road races: the 10K Platja d’en Bossa, held on 15 February. Known for its flat and fast circuit, the race has built a reputation over time as a key fixture for runners.
In 2026, the event also hosts the Spanish 10K Championship, placing Ibiza within the national athletics framework for the day. The course runs through the Ses Salines Natural Park and along the seafront, combining competitive conditions with a coastal route that has become familiar to both local and visiting athletes.

21 February: TriKids Eivissa
Youth sport continues on 21 February with the VII TriKids Challenge Eivissa, held in the ses Figueretes area of Ibiza Town. Events like TriKids form part of a wider effort to promote sport among children throughout the year.
Distances vary according to age category, from Baby to Cadet, following federation guidelines. The emphasis is placed on participation, learning and safety, with adult accompaniment required for younger children.

22 February: Far a Far, from lighthouse to lighthouse
February concludes with the IX Cursa i Caminada Far a Far, held on 22 February in nearby Formentera. Although outside Ibiza itself, the event is closely linked to the Pityusic sporting calendar.
Covering 26 km between the Far d’Es Cap de Barbaria and the Far del Pilar de la Mola, the route can be completed either as a race or as a walk. With generous time limits, the event balances endurance with accessibility, attracting a broad range of participants.

Part of a broader sports events calendar
The February sports calendar offers a clear example of how physical activity is integrated into life on the islands throughout the year. Road races, rural challenges and youth events continue well beyond winter, adapting to seasons, landscapes and local festivities.
Rather than standing out as an exceptional month, February reflects the steady rhythm of Pitiusas‘ sporting life: varied, accessible and closely connected to its towns, countryside and coastline.
