Running in Ibiza offers more than just a workout — it is a way to explore the island’s coastline, its vibrant promenades, and its stunning Mediterranean views. Whether you are staying near Ibiza Town or Playa d’en Bossa, you will find several routes that are ideal for road running, with smooth surfaces, sea breeze, and iconic scenery along the way. These running routes in Ibiza are perfect for visitors who want to stay active during their holiday while discovering the island’s most picturesque areas.

The ses Figueretes to Playa d’en Bossa route: an 8 km return run by the sea

If you are looking for a flat, easy and scenic run, the ses Figueretes to Playa d’en Bossa route is one of the most popular among both locals and visitors. Start your run on the ses Figueretes promenade, just a short distance from the centre of Ibiza Town. The path runs parallel to the sea, with plenty of space for runners and a refreshing ocean view that makes every kilometre enjoyable.

From there, continue along the Playa d’en Bossa promenade, where the atmosphere changes gradually from calm to lively. You will pass by well-known landmarks such as Ushuaïa Ibiza and Hï Ibiza, two of the island’s most famous clubs, before reaching the elegant Grand Palladium White Island Resort. This point marks roughly 4 kilometres from your starting position.

Turning back from there will give you an 8 km total distance, making it an ideal route for a morning or sunset run. The terrain is completely paved and flat, so it suits every level of runner — from those looking for an easy jog to those wanting to keep up their training routine during their stay in Ibiza.

For a little reward afterwards, many cafés along the ses Figueretes promenade serve fresh juices and healthy breakfasts, allowing you to cool down and enjoy the view once you finish your run.

Extending your run: from Playa d’en Bossa to the ses Salines defence tower (up to 21 km return)

For runners who want to go further, this next route offers a more challenging and rewarding option. You can begin with the same ses Figueretes–Playa d’en Bossa path, but instead of stopping at the Grand Palladium White Island, continue a little further. Just before the hotel, at the roundabout by Fergus Style Bahamas hotel, take the street called Carrer de la Gamba Roja. This road will lead you to another roundabout where you should turn left towards the ses Salines road.

From here, the landscape begins to change. The path leaves the busy promenade behind and moves closer to Ibiza’s natural beauty, taking you towards the ses Salines Natural Park. As you follow the main road, you will run alongside salt flats, with the scent of pine trees and sea salt in the air.

If you keep going all the way to the ses Salines defence tower, you will complete a 10.5 km route (one way). This makes it a 21 km total run, the perfect distance for those training for a half marathon. The road is asphalted and mostly flat, although there are some gentle inclines near the end, adding a bit of variation to your pace.

For runners who prefer a shorter challenge, another option is to start directly from the beginning of the ses Salines road and continue only up to the tower. This version covers around 7 km one way, still offering stunning views of the coastline and the protected natural park.

Whichever version you choose, this is one of the most rewarding running routes in Ibiza. It combines coastal and countryside views and gives you a glimpse of Ibiza’s quieter, more natural side — far from the nightlife and music.

The Marina Ibiza and Talamanca route: a 6 km coastal run

Another easy and scenic option for road runners is the Marina Ibiza and Talamanca route, located near Ibiza Town. This is a favourite among those who enjoy combining exercise with sightseeing.

Start at Marina Ibiza, next to the luxury yachts and restaurants, and follow the promenade towards Marina Botafoc. This part of the route is wide, flat and perfect for an early morning jog before the area fills up with visitors. You will run past stylish boutiques, outdoor cafés, and modern architecture — all while enjoying panoramic views of the old town of Dalt Vila across the water.

Continue along the promenade until you reach the wooden walkway that crosses Talamanca Beach. The route follows the curve of the bay, leading you all the way to Sa Punta, a peaceful area with views of the open sea.

The full route, including the return, covers 6 kilometres in total, making it ideal for beginners or those who want a short, relaxing run by the coast. It is also a great option for families or couples who prefer a lighter activity that still allows them to take in some of Ibiza’s most beautiful maritime views.

Tips for enjoying your running routes in Ibiza

  • Go early or late in the day: the temperatures in Ibiza can rise quickly, especially between June and September. Morning and evening runs are cooler and often accompanied by soft light and calm breezes.
  • Stay hydrated: many of these routes have cafés or supermarkets nearby, but it is best to carry water, especially for longer runs like the one to ses Salines.
  • Wear reflective gear: if you plan to run in the early morning or at sunset, some sections may have low lighting, so visibility is important.
  • Explore responsibly: remember that some paths, like those around ses Salines, pass through protected natural areas. Respect the environment and stay on the asphalted routes.

Discover Ibiza through running

These running routes in Ibiza offer much more than kilometres on asphalt. They are an opportunity to connect with the island — its landscapes, its atmosphere, and its rhythm. From urban promenades lined with palm trees to natural roads leading towards the salt flats and the sea, Ibiza proves that it is as inspiring for runners as it is for travellers. Whether you are training for an event or simply keeping fit while on holiday, you will find that every stride reveals a new side of the island.
