Bodegas Can Rich has taken a leap in quality and decided, with its 2024 vintage wines, to relaunch its brand and redirect its strategy with the firm intention of demonstrating that it is possible to produce great wines in Ibiza.
«At Can Rich we know about making wine, and we also know about the Ibizan summer, that’s why we have profiled the qualities of our youngest, freshest range to suit the island’s summer season. The new 2024 vintage wines stand out for being aromatic, smooth but lively, tasty, with a moderate alcohol content and a distinctly Mediterranean character. What’s more, they are organic wines and recognised under the ‘Vinos de la Tierra de Ibiza’ designation, and are mostly produced with Ibizan grapes varieties», explains Álvaro Pérez Navazo, technical director at the winery.
A new style of wines
«Our wine no longer just looks to the land. Now it also listens to the consumer», he adds. The winery director points out that «the new style of wine has been adapted to suit the period of the highest consumption on the island, from April to October, when there is increasing demand for a quality, local product to pair with Ibiza’s dining scene, which calls for a light and fresh product, just like the one we produce at Can Rich».
Products from Ibiza
The winery has also designed a new image for its Can Rich range of wines. Labels that are more modern, lightweight and ready for the season’s service, both for ‘Can Rich Blanc 2024’ and ‘Can Rich Rosat 2024’, and its red ‘Can Rich Negre 2024’, which is much fruitier, with more intensity, designed for also enjoying cold, straight from the ice bucket. Despite being a red, its light, fruity character make it the perfect alternative for summer. «It’s not just a change of image, it’s a statement of intent», concludes Pérez Navazo.
The Can Rich winery has been producing and marketing Tierra de Ibiza products for more than two decades, which apart from its range of organic wines, includes Hierbas Ibicencas Ibizan herb liqueur, Café Caleta liqueur, vermouth, organic extra virgin olive oil, vinegar and artisan sea salt harvested from the Ses Salines Natural Park.
