Over three days, cyclists tackle a variety of trails, from steep climbs to rapid descents, showcasing the island’s natural diversity and the cyclists’ technical skills.
Santa Eulària Ibiza Marathon
April brings the Santa Eulària Ibiza Marathon, a relatively newer addition that has quickly gained popularity. Apart from the traditional marathon distance, it offers 22km and 12km races, accommodating a wide range of running enthusiasts. The course’s scenic beauty, combined with the challenge of distance, makes this event a highlight of the island’s sporting calendar.
The last edition was held on 13 April.
Ibiza Half Marathon
In 2024, a week after the marathon, the Ibiza Half Marathon once again took runners onto the road, this time on a beautiful route from Sant Josep to Ibiza Town that encapsulates the beauty of the island.
This event is perfect for those seeking the thrill of a race but over a shorter, yet equally challenging, distance.
Vuelta Cicloturista a Ibiza Campagnolo
As autumn arrives, the Vuelta Cicloturista a Ibiza Campagnolo beckons cycling lovers. This two-day event offers a comprehensive tour of the island’s landscapes, challenging participants with its variety of terrains and elevations, all celebrated with the spirit of camaraderie and the joy of cycling.
In the most recent edition, the 20th, over 500 cyclists participated, including renowned riders like Alberto Contador and Alejandro Valverde.
In 2024, the competition is scheduled for October 5th and 6th.
Ibiza Trail Marathon
The Ibiza Trail Marathon in late October tests runners with its grueling courses set in the island’s less-traveled paths. With marathon (46 km), half marathon (25 km), and starter (10 km) distances, it’s an event that calls to trail runners of all levels, offering them the chance to explore the natural beauty away from the beaches and clubs.
In 2024, the competition is scheduled for October 26th.
3 Días Trail Ibiza
Closing the sporting year, the 3 Días Trail Ibiza presents a unique challenge with its multi-day format. It’s a true endurance test in a festival atmosphere, celebrating the spirit of trail running.
- Night 10km. The competition begins with an enchanting night race through the city’s historic center, Dalt Vila, and its surrounding paths, starting and finishing in the port.
- Day 2 Challenges. The second is the big day of the event. Runners can choose between different distances: the Ultra Trail (72 km) and the Marathon (42 km), both starting and finishing in Sant Josep; the Half Marathon (21 km), starting in Es Cubells and finishing in Sant Josep; and the 10k Starter, which will start in Cala d’Hort and will also finish in Sant Josep.
- Final 10km. The event wraps up with a scenic race in Santa Eulària, featuring its stunning cliffs and offering a fitting conclusion to the three-day adventure.
In 2024, the competition is scheduled for November 29th and 30th and December 1st.
