Easy route

Ibiza / Cap Martinet / S’Estanyol

This beginner-friendly trail is suitable for almost all walkers, including those with specialised hiking strollers. The first route of these hiking trails guide starts at Ibiza’s port, follow Juan Carlos I promenade, turn left at the roundabout, and head down 8 d’Agost Avenue towards Talamanca Beach. Keep the sea to your right as you stroll along the wooden boardwalk.

After reaching Sa Punta Restaurant, turn left on Cap Martinet Avenue, where you’ll find a trail heading upwards. Continue straight until the path levels out and starts to descend. Follow it to reach S’Estanyol beach, where you can pause for a swim if the weather allows.

The return journey follows the same path back to the asphalt road, turning left towards Jesús. After passing the village football field, cross the road, continuing on the stone-walled track for a panoramic view of Jesús village. From here, follow 8 d’Agost Avenue back to the Ibiza Gran Hotel, and take Juan Carlos I promenade back to your starting point.

Cala Llonga / Sol d’en Serra

This circular route is one of the island’s hiking trails suitable for those with some experience. Begin at Cala Llonga Beach in Santa Eulària, by the Red Cross hut, then follow the tarmac path up to the Can Porxet neighbourhood. Once the path turns to dirt, enjoy the views over Cala Llonga Beach as you ascend.

About 100 metres before the summit, watch for a stone-marked trail on your right. Follow this path to the ruins of a Phoenician settlement at Cap des Llibrell, where panoramic views stretch to Tagomago Island and Formentera.

Continue on this stone-marked trail until it leads down to the Sol d’en Serra car park, completing the loop back to Cala Llonga.

Intermediate route

Sant Antoni / Cala Salada

This is one of Ibiza’s hiking trails that offers stunning views of the Portmany Bay and Sa Conillera islet, a true feast for the eyes. Although suitable for most walkers, its 3-3.5 hour duration calls for comfortable clothing and footwear.

Starting from Sant Antoni town hall, take the coastal path to Caló des Moro Beach. Continue past popular sunset spots like Café del Mar and Café Mambo, keeping the sea to your left. As you move along the coast, you’ll reach Cala Gració and Cala Gracioneta, where you’ll find steps carved into the rock that lead you to more scenic views.

At Hostal La Torre, Cap Nunó, Sa Foradada, and Cala Salada are visible ahead. Continue to Punta Galera, known for its crystal-clear waters, until reaching the spot commonly known as Cala Yoga, where the path becomes paved. Follow this route until you arrive at Cala Salada, your endpoint.

Challenging route

Sant Josep

Enjoy sweeping views of the island from Sant Josep to Sa Talaia, a five-hour looped route with a 354-metre elevation gain. For this kind of hiking trails it is recommended to wear breathable clothes, comfortable shoes, and bring sunscreen and a light raincoat if it’s autumn or winter time.

Start at Sant Josep Church, cross the road and follow the garden path, taking the street on the right. A stony track leads into the forest, and after reaching a crossroad, head left for the forest path until you reach a signpost guiding the way.

Following this steep path, you’ll pass TV transmitters with expansive views. Continue on the trail, passing Sa Talaia’s peak, Ibiza’s highest point. Head downhill on the Camí des Puig Blanc, taking the first left at a rocky path signposted with “Bikes” for a gradual descent back to Sant Josep.

Hiking trails for the adventurous

Sant Joan

This is one of Ibiza’s hiking trails that follows the island’s northern coastline, stretching from Cala Gració to Portinatx Lighthouse. A compass will be helpful for navigation, and we recommend splitting it into three stages for a more relaxed experience.

Starting at Cala Gració, follow the coastal path behind Puig de Nunó and through Es Corrals d’en Guillem. Cross the rugged landscapes of Camp Vell, enjoying some of Ibiza’s most untouched natural beauty. Passing the Santa Agnès plateau, continue to Illa Blanca and Na Xemena, descending to Port de Sant Miquel.

After a stop at Benirràs Beach, take the path to Xarraca and finish your journey by the sea at Portinatx, reaching the des Moscarter Lighthouse.
